Bonchurch Community Association Constitution.

1. THE NAME OF THE ASSOCIATION

The name of the association shall be

THE BONCHURCH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

2. THE OBJECTS OF THE ASSOCIATION

The objects of the Association shall be:

a) to encourage the care and enhancement of Bonchurch.

b) conservation of special areas of interest such as the Pond.

c) obtaining assistance from local authorities and conservation

societies in pursuit of the foregoing.

d) to support any other project that is deemed appropriate by

the BCA committee, to be of benefit to the Bonchurch

community (amended February 2015)

3. MEMBERSHIP

a) Membership shall be open to all persons with residential or

commercial property within the bounds of the thoroughfares

as shown on the Bonchurch Ward Electoral Roll, and to

include specially invited members who have an affinity with

Bonchurch (amended October 2002)

b) All members shall have the right to vote at Annual General

and Extraordinary meetings.

c) There shall be no subscription for membership.

4. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

There shall be an Annual General Meeting of the membership held within six week as of the end of the financial year.

5. FINANCIAL YEAR

The Financial year shall be from 1st April to March 31st.(amended March 2018)

6. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

There shall be an executive committee composed of a minimum of 7 members including a Chairman, Vice-chairman, Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary.

7. FINANCIAL CONTROLS

a) Monies raised from social and other events, donations etc. shall be held in

a Building Society/Bank account with the Hon Treasurer empowered to

make such payments as the executive Committee deem necessary.

b) The Association shall hold an online Bank/Building Society account controlled solely by the treasurer who will grant account “view only” permissions to the Chairman and Hon secretary Approved 5th April 2022

c) The accounts to be audited by an independent auditor and presented to

the Annual General Meeting for approval.

8. WINDING-UP PROCEDURE

At a final meeting of the membership all those present should agree to which charity or charities any money should go.
