Beaches.
Bonchurch boasts of some of the most special beaches on the island that are suitable for swimming. Currents can be strong so care should be taken.
Do help keep our seas and beaches beautiful by picking up 3 pieces of plastic / rubbish, and take your own litter home. bins are by the public loos.
Public paid parking is on Shore Road. Care should be taken driving as the road is single track with hidden bends. -
Isle of Wight Walking Festival. May & October
Poets, painters, mysteries — come uncover Bonchurch.
Step into Bonchurch's hidden past on one of our small-group guided walks, led by local historian Sue Lowday. From atmospheric churchyard tours uncovering poets, shipwreck victims and ancient legends, to journeys in the footsteps of Dickens and the remarkable women who shaped this Victorian village, each walk brings Bonchurch's stories vividly to life — illustrated with rare photographs, period images and the occasional surprising twist you won't find in any guidebook. With groups kept to just 8–10 walkers, these are intimate, unhurried explorations of one of the Island's most storied villages. All you need is curiosity and a good pair of walking boots.
