We are the Bonchurch Community Association (BCA), a not-for-profit group run by volunteers to support village life.
What information we collect
We collect only the minimum personal data needed for a specific purpose. We may ask for your:

Why we collect this information
We use your information to keep you up to date about things happening in the village, including:
local news
events and activities
volunteering opportunities
fundraising for village projects
We do this under “legitimate interests”, meaning it is reasonably necessary to support and run community activities, in ways that people would expect. The BCA is committed to complying with all relevant data protection laws and ensuring any personal data we collect is handled safely and respectfully.
How long we keep your information
We will keep your information until you ask us to remove it, or we believe it is no longer accurate or needed.You can ask us to remove your details at any time. When information is kept for historical or statistical reasons, it will be anonymised to remove any identifying details.
How we look after your information
Your details are kept securely. Digital records will be protected with passwords, and any paper documents will be kept in a locked location.
Only authorised volunteers can access them and only as needed to carry out their responsibilities.
Your information will only be used for community-related purposes consistent with this notice.
We do not sell or pass your data to other organisations. We may use trusted service providers (such as email or messaging platforms like WhatsApp) to help deliver communications. Where this is the case, your data may be processed by these providers in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where you choose to join messaging groups, your phone number may be visible to other members.
